Working in Paradise - Sunshine Coast
Our client, a maintenance solutions provider specialising in painting, building maintenance, refurbishment, electrical, and roofing services in Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay, and Gold Coast, is seeking a skilled painter to join their team. We welcome applications from all over Australia, but please be prepared to relocate to the Sunshine Coast/Queensland.
Requirements:
- Australian citizens and permanent residents encouraged to apply;
- A minimum AQF Certificate III and at least two years of on-the-job experience, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) - three years of full-time experience may substitute for formal qualifications;
- Familiarity with all relevant health and safety regulations;
- Strong organisational and planning capabilities;
- Keen attention to detail;
- Effective communication skills;
- Adequate physical strength and balance;
- Valid driver's licence and white card;
- Demonstrated teamwork abilities and a positive attitude; and
- Ability to work productively both independently and under supervision.
Tasks:
- Inspect surfaces to determine the type and extent of required work;
- Prepare the site by erecting scaffolding, protecting fixtures, etc;
- Ready walls and surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, and removing old paint;
- Apply paint to surfaces while safeguarding surrounding areas;
- Evaluate paint colours, blend pigments using various techniques and tools;
- Strip old paint using various methods to ready surfaces;
- Utilise a variety of tools and brushes to apply paint with precision;
- Assist team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule and as per requirements;
- Engage in both residential, strata, aged care and commercial projects; and
- Adhere to industry safety and environmental protocols and guidelines.
